The appeal of cloud computing is set to be realised by a significant number of companies and individuals over the coming months and years, an expert has predicted.
Jeff Kaplan, founder and managing director of consultancy firm THINKstrategies, said he is expecting the huge amount of "success stories" from users to rub off on others, persuading them to give the cloud a go.
He said decision makers are likely to realise that cloud-based technology provides a "viable alternative" to traditional methods.
Commenting on the arrival of new systems, Mr Kaplan stated: "These will accelerate the adoption of cloud business intelligence, analytics and data integration solutions to solve the big data problem."
It seems the mass adoption of cloud computing is already underway, with Helen Stuckey, cloud leader at IBM Global Business Services in the UK and Ireland, recently suggesting current take-up rates are huge.
THINKstrategies is one of the hosts of this year's Cloud Channel Summit, which will take place in California in November and explore the ways in which the cloud can revolutionise business.
